Most Americans Liken Job Satisfaction to a Mediocre Date... or a Root Canal Business Wire, August 31, 2005

No wonder U.S. workers look forward to a long holiday weekend! According to a just-released national poll, 6 in 10 Americans say their jobs are no better than a "so-so" date (no love connection, but the restaurant was great and the meal was free). And some of them might actually prefer a trip to the dentist than to work!

"Some folks tell us their work is like having a root canal without Novocain," said Warren Bare, a self-described "geek," dot-com millionaire who commissioned the Harris Interactive poll. "Work shouldn't be a miserable experience, and that's why I created my new employment matchmaking site, Jobkabob."

LAUNCHING LABOR DAY WEEKEND, Jobkabob utilizes Bare's proprietary Employment DNA(TM) (Desires, Needs, Abilities) technology to make employment matches based on compatibility, not just availability.

"Finally, someone cares about who I am personally, as well as professionally," said Jenni, an Atlanta marketing executive who is tired of being "just another worker" to her current employer, and "just another random resume" on traditional job seach sites. "Jobkabob goes deeper than my skill set, education, and salary requirements, and wants to know about my interests and hobbies as well."

With several thousand jobseekers like Jenni, and some of the country's top companies including Siemens, Xerox Corp., Alltel, McGraw-Hill, and Bally Total Fitness already on board, Jobkabob is poised to shift the way employment matchmaking is done in America.

"By analyzing the 'DNA markers' a person provides in a Jobkabob profile--things like skills, talents, experience, and education, as well as personal interests like rock-climbing and golf--we gain a detailed picture of who you are. We then go to work for you, finding 'the job,' not just 'a job.' It's all about finding a job you can actually love," said Bare, who helped pioneer the online employment recruiting industry in the 1990s by inventing Headhunter.net, which he eventually sold to CareerBuilder.com.

Unsatisfied with the direction the industry had taken, Bare went back to the drawing board. This Labor Day weekend, Bare introduces Jobkabob--to American workers and employers.
